I think it's awesome actually. In Vermont I see this all the time.
They are extremely popular here on so many levels.
In fact, Vermont's Sport Car is officially endorsed by Subaru Corp, so many of their Rally cars are built here & am friends with a couple of their mechanics.
It is right out the back gate of where I work. Their cars are freaking sick.
My comment was more the spider thing, a phobia so to speak, though I am a huge outdoors person.
I have learned to live in harmony with them, fishing spiders freak me out the most, the wolf spiders on steroids.
    Liked your photos a lot!

I like seeing the Subarus pulling the trailers. I love seeing vehicles work hard, and people getting the most out of them. I think Subarus are great vehicles and I offered to buy my wife one (not digging at the Subaru guys, I wanted her to get one).

She opted for this instead. So to give some counter perspective, here's a Toyota SUV pulling a trailer. Pulled the trailer 1650 miles around the Ozarks, it wasn't heavily loaded, but it pulled beautifully and I got 19 MPG with the 4 Runner doing it. I flipped the axle mount on the trailer to give it more ground clearance, and when I lift the 4Runner 2" it will sit just about level.

Lots of cars getting wood tossed in to their rears here, I am not sure I can continue to view these threads at work (or any where for that matter) if this continues.

We love the love the Outback, my issues are 1-should have spent more and got the sunroof and better sound system. 2-I sometimes forget that it needs to be driven like a truck and not like the VW cars we had before it.

I did the fill-the-car-with-wood thing with a 1981 Subaru hatchback a couple of times. Rode home on the suspension bump stops, but it did have an actual low range "transfer case" for getting out of the woods. Good times.

I replaced a rear-ended Outback with my Tacoma, and still own a Forester - all sticks. With a manual Forester and a trailer like that, you'll get more smoke from the clutch than you will from the firewood. First gear is pretty high, which makes it unpleasant to drive the manual offroad. On the other hand, a manual Foz is way more fun than a Tacoma on a twisty gravel road.

actually the old Turds were the most reliable ones, comparing a Suburu to a pickup is apples and oranges a Tacoma can haul wood and pull a trailer for years without any issues Im sure a Suburu Forester doesn't have the stamina to pull loads like in those pictures for years without major wear and tear brake downs

You do know wolf spiders fish for dinner right? Some of the larger species anyway. I've had a hand sized one in my boat while transporting painters out to the cottage, talk about a Chinese fire drill.... woah. Ran out of gas and had to switch gas lines, out jumps the spider.... I was HUGE I could see his mandibles from across the boat, and the eyes .... the eyes I tell ya, the eyes are HUGE.

They were/are available in Ontario. When I was picking up my SR5 at the dealer there was another guy taking delivery of his '16 DCSB V6 M/T Off Road Tacoma. When I ordered mine the dealer had 2 of them sitting on the lot. I considered that model but in the end didn't need a DC model and wanted the longer bed so AC for me did the trick plus I wanted an auto.

Live in snow country and love the Outback. CVT aint bad once you get used to it (wouldn't even try to haul a trailer with it tho) average 33.4 mpg with lots of room. 2 years and no problems. I just picked up my 17 SR access cab 5 spd 4x4 600 miles so far (reminds me a lot of my Jeep), we are just getting to know each other. You can laugh at the Subarus all you want, they have a place and just try to find a used one with less than 200k on it for a decent price.
