Big o...where i got it done the first time can check it later today, but i don't think i feel like staying down here all day. And none of the Goodyear places have any availability today which would be perfect for killing time. :/

So how many of you folks that have bolt on sliders take them off periodically to prevent rust on the frame where they mount?

I thought it was state law as well that when weapons are left in an unattended vehicle they have to be locked up i.e. Safe glove box etc

I wonder about that too, but it may not be a law.
My brother had his Tacoma broken into two weeks ago, they got a pistol out of his truck and some cd's. He kept it between the seats, just tucked in there. Police came and went and that was the end of it. He'll never see it again.

    There has been.
In his case though, I think he forgot to lock his doors. My neighborhood gets a lot of opportunist thieves, if the door is open, they have at it, otherwise they move on. I have seen their footprints in the snow as they hit every vehicle in the neighborhood, including mine.

last I checked you can have the magazine inserted, but you can not Chamber a round will have to go dig up the statue could of changed. DOW law for hunting prohibits having a loaded chambered rifle or shotgun in a motor vehicle. handgun don't fall under this rule as they are considered personal protection.

Granted we should all use common sense. based on what it says you can have a magazine loaded and inserted just not chambered, but I say use good judgment by doing this an officer can check to make sure you are complying with the law.

    here we go.

    C.R.S. 33-6-125

*** This document reflects changes current through all laws passed at the Second Regular Session of the Seventieth General Assembly of the State of Colorado (2016) ***

    C.R.S. 33-6-125 (2016)
33-6-125. Possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle

It is unlawful for any person, except a person authorized by law or by the division, to possess or have under his control any firearm, other than a pistol or revolver, in or on any motor vehicle unless the chamber of such firearm is unloaded. Any person in possession or in control of a rifle or shotgun in a motor vehicle shall allow any peace officer, as defined in section 33-1-102 (32), who is empowered and acting under the authority granted in section 33-6-101 to enforce articles 1 to 6 of this title to inspect the chamber of any rifle or shotgun in the motor vehicle. For the purposes of this section, a "muzzle-loader" shall be considered unloaded if it is not primed, and, for such purpose, "primed" means having a percussion cap on the nipple or flint in the striker and powder in the flash pan.
