how many miles are on your guys v6's

over 2 years ago my grandpa bought a 1st gen DC 4x4 with 270k, today it has 290xxx running like a champ no issues at all. That was the deciding point for me to get a Tacoma so I got a 2nd gen with 35k it got long ways to go if the 4.0 is a reliable as the 3.4.

 

151xxx still runs perfect.

Last time my valve covers were leaking, I retorqued the bolts and it stopped. Some were REALLY loose.

My documentation says 53 inch pounds. Pay attention to the sequence.

 

Just past that the a few days ago on a 2000 xtra cab. I also went and bought a lotto ticket.

 

83xxx. its funny how non Toyota drivers don't get excited to break 100k on their cars.

 

Coming up on 540,000. As I posted last year, original powertrain.

 

What have you had to replace, if anything? What year is yours?

 

293300 and still strong. Oil change every 4000 miles

 

2002. Nothing but routine maintenance items. Let's see... on my fourth timing belt, fourth water pump (done together, of course). Had to replace the brushes on the alternator (otherwise original), one carrier bearing, one radiator, one TPS. On second set of coil packs, ditto spark plug wires. Been through a couple of windshields.

Damn thing is unreal.

 

What about transmission fluid. How many times and did you use aftermarket fluid?

 

I have 289k on mine. It has had the oil changed every 3k miles and one set of belts. I also had to replace the starter, mastercylinder and the clutch due to the previous owner being rough and it sat for 2 years in a field.

212 on mine. Dropped 100000 in the first 4 years I owned it as a daily driver. Sits a lot now. Just can't get rid of it. Love this truck.

Its about to get some money put into it (since life's more stable now). Wouldn't be to surprised if it made it back to the daily driver of once was

It was at 29k last time I posted in this thread almost 2 months ago, now it's at 36k. I need to stop driving so much. Poor truck isn't used to it.

 

Not a Tacoma, but I sold my '99 T4R 3.4L V6 with ~293,000 on it with no issues! original auto trans and all. Boy do I miss it! Burned no oil what so ever.
