Oh ya. That's why I told @eon_blue I doubt I'll need additional traction on these for steps. I just googled the XWings, definitely bulky in the rear.

Those look awesome! Bedlining them could still be an option, aside from traction I'm sure it will hold up a lot better than regular paint will. When we went to pismo, all that salt in the sand ate away at the paint on my sliders like crazy. Had to repaint over probably 1/3 of them.

Stay away from the beach then  but I feel ya. I've already bought the paint, I don't know if I want to get bed liner for it. I'll make the decision while I'm picking up the self-etching primer after work

For real, ocean sand is no joke. Imagine what that'll do to our poor frames

the opening measures 20"x1 1/2". Im sure a different brand of light in a seingle row version would fit up to the opening nicely. The problem is that the mounting tabs may not be at the right width or height to fit a light different than the Baja Designs light we have designed it for.

Any plans to do a standard rear bumper with tire/can carrier?

I am planning to install some equipment where the spare is now but with the high clearance the air tanks and other stuff I have planned will be too visible from the rear.

Im not a crawler but do mild desert trips so the high clearance doesn't fit my needs. I love your design and hoping you have plans for it in the future.

Here is a link to our direct replacement rear bumper:http://www.c4fabrication.com/produc...erland-series-rear-bumper-system-bsm-support/
That bumper can be ordered with all the same swing out options as the Hi-Clearance model.
Here is a link to the install instructions if you want to see more info on the bumper:

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Sliders will be here this week!!! I'm excited!

Recommendation on what the best painting options are?
    Is smooth linex a thing?
