After doing tons of research with vehicle specs and dealerships I pulled the plug. Thanks to Launch21v and sqa4life for pushing me in the right direction. If anyone is in the market for a new Tacoma I cannot speak highly enough of Kyran at Toyota of Corvallis.
    Long story short:
I travel a ton, test drove on the road, price matched all over the U.S.
Living in Southern CA (Priced at MSRP plus some) I made the out of state purchase.
Booked a flight via Allegiant from LAX -Eugene OR. ($65 ) one way and was picked up by Kyran.
I have been in a handful of dealerships in my life. Lets face it dealerships are not fun :) This was by far the best experience I could ever ask for in a dealership environment.
Drove her back to CA in two days putting 1K of asphalt on her.
So far no problems and love the truck.
Overall great deal with no complaints.
    Happy Camper

Congratulations on the new truck, and welcome to TW! I actually grew up in Corvallis, and one of my childhood friends has been a mechanic at that dealership for quite a few years. Good guy and definitely knows his business. Glad to hear about your positive experience.

For those folks living near East Tennessee, Toyota of Kingsport is a well run dealership that will give you an extremely fair deal, no haggling. I have bought a few vehicles over the years, Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, Nissan, Saab, and this dealership has always been up front, honest, with no sales gimmicks. Yea, they will try to sell you accessories and Toyota Care but not with any pressure! I think every dealership does that, part of the experience.

In fact, my son a few years ago, who was and is currently serving on active duty, was in a hard place and needed a vehicle. Robert Culbertson and his staff made him a deal he could not refuse on a brand new Corolla. Class man and great dealership! I could go on about some great stories about this dealership. Bottom line, this is a dealership that is actually pleasant to work with.

I seem to remember the Toyota survey I got after buying asked about whether or not the dealer had offered this and that. I'd guess they "have to" offer the stuff lest they get dinged for not doing so.

I can't fault someone for checking the boxes they gotta check to keep their boss happy. We all want to keep our families housed and fed. I respect those who do so in a reasonable, non-pushy manner, as described.

Glad to hear you got a new truck for what sounds like a good deal! I am in the same boat with my dealers around here it seems like as far as price goes, do you mind sharing what the specifics on your truck and what you paid? You can pm me if you prefer, thanks.

Yea, I bought my Tacoma from him in Ft. Worth because the folks over here in Grapevine were, ahem, assholes.

He hasn't changed. Bought my 4Runner from him over the phone. Took five minutes to find it on the computer, and two minutes to agree on price and trade-in value. Picked it up nine days later and was at the dealer 30 minutes. And most of that time was just waiting for the car wash guys to finish.

I always wonder why other dealers can't cultivate a similar process.
