What is the concern about weight? Do these heavy bumpers negatively impact ride?

Wish I had the spare $$ since I'm local. But I'm also only on stock OR suspension so maybe it wouldnt be a good idea.

@2015whitetaco is on stock suspension, or was, with full bumpers.

It isn't a "negative" impact on ride, per se.. but stock suspension loses some height and is outside it's intended use when you replace the plastic bumper with 100 lbs of steel.

I'm sure he can comment more on that as he experienced it, and his bumper is much bigger, IIRC.

Makes sense. Would running some 5100's but stock springs fix the ride up front? Or do you need to upgrade springs? Last question then I'll search other threads ;)

It'd help restore some height up front that is lost from the extra weight up front being absorbed by the coils, but in doing so, you'd preload the coils more and then the ride would be firmer than stock, the more preload, the firmer it'd become.

The bumper would soften that firm feel up with it's weight.. so I'm not sure what the end result would be. Different from stock ride on a stock truck, for sure, but to what extent?

Lots of guys run that front setup with bumpers and have no complaints, so I'd think it's just fine but with room for improvement.

Thanks for explaining it @DCSBFTMFW. I have oem Baja which is ok, but not the best for aftermarket heavy bumper 130pds plus 50 odd winch). I wish I can keep it and had gotten better suspension. i wasn't thinking that far ahead at the time when getting the suspension. I guess after being on Tw so Much it affected my views.

Hey what up Chris. Yeah I saw your bumper it's super big. On my suspension I don't have height adjustment notches like the regular 6112 has. I want to at least have 2 inches of height.

Does that bumper double as a snow plow too?

Good to know. Off road or sport springs?

I can just see it now:

Driveway is too short... bumper removes passenger side of vehicle passing by.
