    I like driving with ECT mode ON:)
    Problem is, by default is is set to OFF.:(
    I can definitely feel the difference when it is activated; smoother driving, smoother shifting, higher powerband.:D

    So I came up with the simple mod below. This will Activate ECT mode whenever the truck is started. You can still manually turn it off by pushing the button.
    Here is what I used:
    •12V relay
    •Pac TR7 module
    •16awg wire
    •3m T-tap connectors

    I also sell the OEM connectors if you want to make a clean plug and play "T" harness!
    https://mesocustoms.com/collections/diy-parts/products/toyota-ect-connectors

    How To:
    1)Wire up Relay;
    Pin 86: Gorund
    Pin 85: -->blue wire of Tr7
    Pin 30:--> Pink wire on ECT button (pin 4)
    Pin 87:--->White/black wire on ECT button(pin 1)

    Wire up TR7:

    Easiest way I have found to gain access to the Cig lighter power, and ECT button is this way:
    [IMG]

    Reach in behind and unplug ECT/Cigareette to tap wires.

    LOVE IT. I just wish there was a completely plug and play option where a female to male harness was in between the button and the factory harness, so no wire tapping was necessary. If someone comes up with that, I'm all over it.

    ^ trust me, I have been trying to source the OEM male/female connectors to make a plug n play solution. Until then, this is the next best thing:)

    Well, until that time, this is a REALLY good option and you've laid it out very clearly for us. Thank you!

    Do you have links to the relay you purchased, or will you be selling the wired bundle?

    I though ECT turned back off if the button was held for 30 seconds?

    He tapped into the start signal instead of a constant 12v on so it's only powering the relay momentarily at start to bridge the connection from what I gather.

    Here's a potential source for connectors, in bulk...just have to know which connectors to get. https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...ness-connector-manufacturers_60157086926.html

    I had some laying around my shop, but this is very similar:
    https://www.amazon.com/12-VDC-SPDT-...d=1476826485&sr=8-32&keywords=12v+micro+relay

    It does. The way I have configured it, the START signal momentarily connects the relay pins(activating the ECT button) then turns back off after truck has started. Nothing stays on

    Nice job on figuring this out. :bowdown: and even though I'm not going to do this I can see from your pics that's there plenty of wiring available for me to cut off the male switch connector and about 3" of the wiring and solder on extensions to reach the center console for relocating the ECT switch to.

    I also may just leave the original ECT switch in the dash and buy another factory ECT switch to mount on the center console, then all I have to do is tap into each of the 4 wires under the dash.

    Has anyone removed the main center console, and if so please share how to go about it. :)

    I take it the relay did not have to have a delay or timed setting .

    I haven't noticed any decrease. If anything, I saw improved numbers a handful of times.

    However I do wonder why Toyota chose to turn this option off when the truck shuts down and not re-start it automatically (as w/ some other buttons), and whether there may be potential downsides to running ECT all the time.
