apparently in toyota's infinate wisdom, they made the headrests on the front seats larger than they were from 05-08...at least on the sport. i put in my covers on my back seats yesterday w/ no probs...everything identical. then i hop in there today to install the fronts and the bottom and backs were all the same, but then the headrest is about 2" taller and peaks a little in the middle, so my covers wont fit....bullshit toyota!!

nah...on this green i like the smoked bezel that it has stock. i'm not gonna go black out crazy on this one like the last. i'll thrown on black sliders, toolbox, skidplate, and i'll tint my tails and 3rd brake again, but not pitch blak like the last were either

I just checked Toyota.com and it doesn't list it as one of the safety features so I guess not. I guess it's just a design change but I don't know what the point would be in that.

The first thing I did when I got my 08 was take off the back head rests(left the little center one). I didnt like how they blocked ths back windows.

I'm about to do the same thing, and put them into a bag and store em in the garage. On a regular basis I'm putting down the seats to store my bike ramp, and I'm finding that the head rests are just getting in the way.

Sorry to about the '09 headrests being different than the '05-'08, but good info for the rest of us.....

^I just did the same thing last weekend. I pull down the back seats on a regular basis (during softball seasons, I put my stuff back there) and it gets old taking those headrests on and off all the time. You can see much better without them, anyway.
