For people still active on this thread. Didn't want to read thru 60 pages but there's a guy selling a front runner slim rack for $700 with a lot of stuff included including a light bar. So it got me super excited to get it. But that being said he took it off his 2016 and I have a 2013 will it fit?
I also went on the website and it says there's one for 2016 plus and one for 05-15 so just want to confirm that it won't fit on my taco
    Thanks
Here's the ad by the way http://touch.bismanonline.com/2005_2016_toyota_tacoma_roof_rack_and_light_bar

The 2016 was just released this past couple of weeks, so i bet he modified a 05 -15 rack to fit.

Anyone have any luck solving the whistling noise? It's pretty bad on mine.

I took the wind deflector off today and it still whistled. At 55mph my entire truck was shaking and vibrating without the deflector so I threw it back on. Mine only whistles from like 15mph to 45mph but is pretty damn loud.

I'm going to test to see if covering the underside slats reduces the wind noise. if it does, the more permanent fix will be to buy some 15S t-slot covers, which seem to be the appropriate size.

I thought I was the only one! Mine are in the hallway, waiting on my hole punch before I start.

I like those 15s t slot covers, looks cheaper than those rubber ones from Front Runner

Thanks for the info. I'll have to book mark those and check them out from time to time. Sorry for the late reply, on a road trip at the moment.

I'm just wondering how UV resistant those covers are. I'm willing to try them, unless there is a cheaper source for the rubber inserts that Front Runner has?
