Question for meat guys, I'm looking at you @Tee Arghhhhhh Dee , So I bought one of those pre-marinated roasts from Safeway, peppercorn something....just oven cooked it (I know I know, i was tired after work and didn't have 3 hours to slow roast it on the grill), with the plans to slice it on my new slicer for some sandwich meat....it turned in to garbage...even fresh out of the oven and sliced (cooked perfectly, obviously) it was tough as nails and full of gristle...Can someone point me to a good cut of meat I can marinate and slow roast for sandwich meat? I've been itching to make myself some good sammiches on sourdough and the one I made just didn't fuckin do it for me. And the Ball Tip sandwiches at Kinders are getting old, fast.

 

Not sure to be honest. What kind of meat was it? I don't do meat too often in the oven. Also, I try to stay away from pre marinated meat. If you find good meat, a lil salt and pepper can go a long way.

"Tenderloin" supposedly. But once I cut in to it it was extremely tough and gristle running through most of it.

And yeah I know, I usually don't oven cook either, but A) I really wanted a sandwich ASAP and B) I didn't want to setup the Coleman at 7PM for Sandwiches lol.

 

I'm just gonna pick up a hunk of Tri-Tip from Safeway and marinate that and then slow cook it (mmmmm maybe try smoking it) later this week

went out of my way to find a small micro brewery shop that sells a lot of CA brews.. no pliny, seems it doesn't make it out here much. Oh how I've been longing for a Pliny, or Blind Pig..

I don't have an address, didn't think I'd be here this long to set up a PO box. Thanks man for the offer! I'm filing my transfer paperwork this week to try and get into that unit out of Ft. Lewis that will let me get treatment at home (Travis AFB) Hoping they can get the transfer done in the next couple weeks.

 

Well as soon as you get an address let me know. I live like 10 mins from the brewery and they've got stainless steel growlers now. I can order a few and ship 'em.
