I didn't think so either. And it might not be. But he said when they're over 10 years old, sometimes it's easier and cheaper to total it. The Front wheel and back wheel need replaced, broken front shock, broken windshield was all I could tell was visually wrong. With that hard of a hit, I'm going to assume CV joint, Ball joints, control arms probably took a big hit. Possiblilty of a warped frame on the front corner. It was a direct hit on the driver's side tire at about 40 MPH.

We'll see. It's not for sure. All depends on what they say Thursday.

Any good places to (truck) camp between ATL and Cookeville(TN) next month? My route has me running up 75 to get there but I can take back roads. Im in no rush and can cruise.

I'll let everyone know what happens. Like I said, hopefully I get back into something that a lot of this will go back on.

I don't know any specific spots to recommend along that route, but look into Johns Mountain WMA: http://www.ohranger.com/ga/johns-mountain-wildlife-management-area

Also there's the Cohutta Wilderness and the rest of the Cherokee National Forest. For more developed campgrounds, look into Red Top Mountain State Park (GA), Fort Mountain State Park (GA), or even Cloudland Canyon State Park (GA). There may be camping at Prentice Mountain State Forest (TN) but I've not been there.

Thanks. I'll look into it. Its a ten hour drive via interstate but I figured I may add some camping into this trip, weather and time permitting.

Depending on your schedule, Red Top Mountain has the benefit of being pretty much right off of I75, so you're not schlepping across a bunch of backroads wasting time.

Red Top is a cool place. Only problem is you have to pay to camp. Where I come from (Colorado) I've never paid for camping nor will I ever. Fuck that!

Colorado state park developed campgrounds / sites are free? That's pretty cool that they don't charge anything. Every other state I've known charges something, even if it's a small fee.

I've used developed / fee required campgrounds a handful of times when travelling and I didn't want to waste the time to get to an undeveloped site. Mostly I don't, as I'm either backpacking or I want to get the heck away from people.

That's what we did. We would park the truck somewhere and backpack to our spot. So we never stayed in developed campgrounds. We made our own on open land

I'm pretty sure they only offer group camping, such as for boy scouts or similar. I'd looked this morning but found no info for individual public camping.

There does seem to be a private / KOA campground nearby: http://battlefieldrvpark.com/
