It will play my JL audio 300x4 and 500x1 amp'd system for 6-8 hours or more and still start. Plenty of times we left the music going until you could hear it die. Just shut the truck off, waited a few minutes and started it right up every time. Seems like it always has one last start in it.

Ive had mine for more than 3 years now. Probably paid about 50% more than the expensive one in the auto parts store, but worth every penny.

Oh, and its lighter and smaller than the stock one too.

I'm not convinced on teh gel cells anymore. You pay more for less capacity, and less CCA. The only benefit to them nowadays is size and spill proof, great for offroad.

27F is the size, the terminals are reversed. I do believe 34F fits as well, at least that part number cross referenced the other day when I was at VatoZone.

Just for complete info, I had to buy a new battery last night after the OEM died. I knew it was coming for a few days so I researched it and decided on the Everstart at Walmart. Now, OEM was a 27F but the chart at Walmart said to go with 24F for my model/year. I do not have the OEM tow package and the truck was purchased by me new here in SC. Everything fits fine and works great thus far.

Thank you everyone for this thread.

I have a 07 DCLB with towing package. Battery died yesterday, and it was a AutoZone Duralast 24F. I put a charger on her and started researching who in this little town might have one. Well AutoZone's web site said they had one.

However when I got there I used my so called smart phone to search batteries again and this thread popped up. Even though I don't have a bunch of lights or things that pull a lot of power, I do pull trailers at times and do use a converter to power stuff once in a while. So going with the 27F (which I didn't know existed at the time) was a no brainier for me.

I went with the Duralast Gold (all they had) which was the only one in town. It's a 5 year battery. The 24F that came out was made in 2010 so I figure the Gold version will be just fine.

    Thanks again y'all.

My 06 OEM battery lasted 7 years, since then I buy either Toyota TrueStart or WalMart batteries. Some outlast the Duralast Gold's I've owned, plus they're cheaper. I supplement that with a Battery Mole plug-in analyzer and an Antigravity 18ah jumpstart battery pack. I put them in whatever vehicle I'm driving. I'm out on remote jobsites every day, all day.. and don't have time for dead batteries, no one around for miles for a jump, no cell service. The peace of mind is priceless.

The original battery in my '08 Tacoma which I took delivery of in December of '07 is starting to show signs of dying...9 years old. The longest I ever got out of a battery. I am leaning toward getting another Toyota battery if I can find the exact same one.

Sounds like previous owner replaced a 27F with the 24F, may have been a situation of that's all that was available. Got 7 years out of my original 27F, have had an AZone 27F Gold for almost a year, no problemo.

Regardless of what was in from the factory, all Tacos can run the 27F. Why run a lower duty battery? That was just Toyota saving themselves money.

The specs on my Northstar AGM 27F are satisfactory :D

7 years from a battery? Thats amazing. I have to replace mine every 2 years because Florida heat cooks a battery.

I still have the original battery on my 2008. I am going to replace it in the next month so I don't get stranded on some remote forest road this winter when back country skiing. Maybe the mild seattle climate helps battery longevity.

It is surprising considering the climate.
