    Why? If it doesn't bother them and has no short or long term consequences who cares? It's only a problem if its a problem in your own mind.

    You're missing the point. This is obviously a defect in manufacturing. There is no reason why leather shouldn't be tightly wrapped to the wheel. It's not a huge problem and no one is saying it is, but it is a manufacturing defect that is an annoyance to those of us who expect a brand new $35k truck to feel like a $35k truck.

    I'm not missing anything. I've owned 20 vehicles now, most new.. and when you're this....particular...about these sort of imperfections, you'll find them in every single vehicle you own. There is no 35k vehicle that is so perfect that no imperfections in imperfect materials like leather exist.

    The expectations some people have on this forum is quite out there. You say 35k truck like that's expensive. This is one of the cheapest trucks you can buy and 35k is optioned up from what this truck really is, which is a 25k truck with options.

    I have owned just as many vehicles and have never had one with a "bubble" in the leather. My 26 year old Miata leather steering wheel is wrapped more tightly. The point of this forum is to gather and share information about our trucks because most of the time, it is easier to find a real solution here than at the dealership. I was simply agreeing with the OP and sharing my experience of dealing with the same issue so when someone searches this forum in the future, they can find useful information and know that other people have had a similar problem. And damn, I am jealous to know that $35k is "not expensive" for you. You must have so much money...all the money.

    You misunderstand. It's not a matter of affordability to me, it's a comparable cost to market.

    The 40k truck strikes again !!
    Cost = unrealistic expectations
    FYI, if you're as smart as you think you are, you will wait till you hit like 35,000mi when your leather steering wheel is all worn with dirt and oil from your hands, before you get them to replace it.

    Awesome! I have the exact same issue in the same location. Hopefully they can resolve it without going to toyota care.

    Oh my God, I'm stoked that there's already a thread on this!

    I am dealing with the same issue, but for me, the leather is separating from the 9 o' clock position, both on the front and back. I have only had my truck since January, and I literally received it off of the delivery truck from the factory and the steering wheel has always been this way. It really bothers me because my wife's '18 4Runner has the same steering wheel but everything is nice, flush, and firm, as well as the right side (3 o' clock) of my truck's wheel.

    I guess my question is, has anyone else run into this issue since the last one of these posts? If so, how did you correct it? Did the dealer cooperate or give you a hard time?Snapchat-1513088009~2.jpg IMG_20190606_115412.jpg
