    I have a 2016 Tacoma.
I noticed that when I pack up I no longer hear the beeping sound. I cant seem to find the button or locate it in the setting function on the dashboard. I called the dealer to ask, but the service person I dealt with didn't know how or where to look. Said it should look like a cone with rings on it?
Is there a way to fix this or do I need to bring it in to have it serviced?
If there is anyone have an idea on how it oculd have been turned off?
    Thanks
    Bow

Open your glove box. Look deep inside there, you may have to move some stuff around, and you will find a book that says owners manual. That is a source with lots of information. Turn to page 220.

That is perhaps the most savage helpful response I have ever read. TW summed up in one post.

Yes it's the button with a big P, for parking, with sonar waves, for the sensor, and a cone, which you might back up into.

Common sense is truly not common.

It is a sensible place to begin for fundamental vehicle operation instructions if everything is functioning as designed.

We appreciate members who lift a finger to help themselves before polluting the site with drivel.

EDIT: and we prefer to save our drivel for BS threads...in which we pride ourselves with some serious, top-shelf drivel.

I didn't realize every detail of the work I did prior to posting my question was necessary. Of course I checked the manual! Sheesh-take it easy boys!

But back to the original question, I take it that no one has had to fix this on an SR5 or make adjustments when towing something?

So are you saying when you push the button it does not change anything?

What's to fix? It's a button. It'll beep constantly if you try to reverse with a trailer, hence the ability to turn it off. I had a 2001 Windstar (POS) and you couldn't turn that feature off when towing. Made me want to replace it with a Toyota.

    So I did.

It is no longer beeping. Before I make a stink with the dealer/manufacturer. I want to make sure that I didn't inadvertently turn it off. I can't locate anything on my dash or in the manual. Just covering my basis is all.
I have the basic SR5. Nothing fancy. I haul bikes, boats, camping gear. Dash is pretty straight up.

Daddy-o. There is no button that I can locate. I am wondering if I am looking in the wrong area? Although I feel like I have scoured the dash board. Hmmmm

I read in other years/models that you can disengage the feature-but nothing on the 2016 that I can find.

So...you have an SR5 with the Appearance Package with Parking Sonar and Navigation, and don't see this button? If you don't see it, you don't have the parking sonar.
