I don't have that button. No appearance package. But up until recently I have had the back up beeping notification. Maybe it has another name...?

You don't have parking sonar then....are you certain you weren't just waiting to put on your seat belt?

Had a Windstar as well. Only car I bought an extended warranty on. I went into it knowing they were crap. $10K cheaper than a used Honda or Toyota van. Served it's purpose.

Do you have the sensors in your rear bumper? If not, no clue what the beep was indicating.

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
The button should be located right above the foward cup holder on your center console

Well I'm not sure what to tell ya...any beeping you heard backing up was of no relation to parking sonars that you don't have.

I'm surprised you thought you have them with a clean chrome bumper, devoid of sonar sensors.

I keep getting stuck in the mud. I looked, and only the rear wheels spin. Anyone know how to get the front one's to spin also? I think I would get stuck less if all four turned at the same time.

You have to get out and lock the hubs.

We had a Prius that was delivered with an alert that sounded as soon as you put it in reverse ... not sonar, always on in R and no dash button. I disabled it, no dealer hookup required. Instructions were either in the owner's manual or found online after 5 seconds of googling.

Wasn't that meant to alert pedestrians that you are about to run over them with your silent dealer of death?

My wife has us on our second Prius. That beep is annoying as fuck, and I think is intended to deafen the cabin occupants and motivate them to use pull-through parking and never reverse again. The only reason you can hear it outside the car at all is because it's about 115 decibels INSIDE the car.

There were no runaway acceleration issues in the Prius. That was all owners attempting to escape reverse.

So when you say you have a basic SR5, Is it also a 6 speed? If so, per the owners manual there is a reverse buzzer* to help you distinguish between reverse and first gear, since they are next to each other. If that's no longer working, something is wrong it would seem and would warrant a service call.

Base SR5's do not have backup sensors.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
