Did you go to Martin State Airport and see them in person? They had other planes there also.

Wasn't sure since Bend has its own airport but Redmond is the larger of the 2. that approach is very pretty in the winter with the snow cover but can be windy.

...^^^... I vaguely remember a "menu aka small manual in the old days" on a target acquisition system used in some Huey's for 2.75 rockets and it was in your face and vibrated all over the place. A real PIA to use.

Read the manual, but used a grease pencil on windscreen for best results.

I doubt if they would allow you to use a grease pencil on a F-22 canopy today for target acquisition. :)

No...I found out they were in the neighborhood when they flew over BWI, then went a little east of the airport and started practicing maneuvers. We could still hear the afterburner over the other jet noise when they were a few miles out

Yeah they are awesome! I live right next to Martin State Airport so I heard them leaving and coming back.

I'm not a fan of all the traffic that the Air Show attracts around Martin State Airport but it's nice seeing the younger children smiling when they see the planes. I'm use to it since I've lived next to the airport my entire life. lol

Was there a member on this thread that was running a flight school outside of Dallas somewhere - their big thing was that they were all current or retired airline pilots....? anybody remember that or know who I'm talking about?

Need to do an IFR finish up... an idiot flying my SR20 had a tail strike and it went away to get repaired up north somewhere and my CFII went to Envoy.

Quick course - instrument finish up is what I'm looking for.

    Thanks!

And for eye candy, a pic of my company's new (to us) Kingair e90 ;)

I stand by my previous statement regarding the molestation that would occur between that Electra and myself.

I don't know, that Staggerwing might be my choice. Used to work in Tullahoma, TN doing some GA maintenance, but several would come to town for the Staggerwing Fly-in at the Beechcraft Museum and needless to say, I couldn't get much work done those days...
