Honestly, I think my truck runs better on 93 octane. YMMV

89 is better than 87 but you should run 91 at minimum, 93 if you can get it (we don't have it here in Socal so 91 is the most I'm able to get).

I always keep a bottle of octane booster in my truck in case I'm ever in a pinch and have to fill up at a station without premium fuel, or a station with low quality fuel. I also always run a bottle of it in my truck when I go out wheeling.

I always fill up at 76 stations if I can help it, Shell is my next choice. In my pre-supercharged Tacoma days, Arco was my go-to gas station but I've filled up my truck there a few times since and it's hit or miss. When it's a miss, you can definitely tell the difference. Motor pings a lot more under heavy load.

The online update program didn't like both of my Windows 10 systems and wouldn't load. It worked fine at the dealership, but they still had to manually load the SD card and the process was lengthy. Hopefully mine was the exception, but everyone should be prepared for this issue.

now that my BD Tuner is properly configured, I don't think I'll have anymore issues. :fingerscrossed:

Another BD Tuner question - can you use it to flash the ECM and then disconnect it from the OBDII port? I prefer my Scangauge, rather not have to keep the BD connected.

Lucky :annoyed: On average I pay about $3.15/gallon for 91 here in LA.

    Sorry to hear that.

Are you sure you're limited to those 2 WMD targets?

haha, yeah pretty much. Not just these two, but big/commercialized cities in general. I do commercial photography for a living and the studios that hire guys like me full-time are all in big cities with expensive gas prices. I'd like to live somewhere like Nebraska or Idaho but that just ain't gonna happen anytime soon at least.

Not a lot of choices for premium gas over 91 octane in Hawaii. Ethanol free is catching on here, but only on 89. Which is also at like 3.37 last time I checked. I don't even wanna look at 91 gas prices. I'll just swipe the card and fill o_O

My wife has considered making a contract that states I won't mod the truck anymore and having me sign it. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

lol yeah it's funny to me how much less I worry about gas prices now, I just make it work. When I had my Scion I was always on the lookout for the cheapest stations to go to. Now I just look for a 76 station and rarely even pay attention to the cost per gallon.

edit: Unless I'm in Hollywood, fuck Hollywood. Saw a Chevron there last week with 91 for $4.50  2 miles down the road it was $3 again. Crazy

But you're like a gazillionaire from roof racks now. Just sell one of your houses to pay for the SC.
