Done it once before. Unfortunately I bought a used one from someone and it wasn't in good condition. This time around I'm going to go with Napa. They have warranty and are local. With the others (ie Rack Doc) you have to deal with shipping and all that shit. Napa's price seems legit ($300 online).
As for the labor, there's nothing to it really. I just seems like a tough job. If I can do it (basic set of tools) anyone can.

I'm hearing mixed things about NAPA. Let us know how it goes though. I don't want to do this more than once, so I am leaning toward new OEM or used OEM (but low miles)

Rack doctor or cvj are remand oem racks. Believe low range off road is also now offering remand oem racks as well now.

Yup, there's honestly pros and cons to all of them. Why, because they're ALL reman'd as far as I know. Thus, Napa - no shipping. OEM new would cost you over 1k easy, even then, you're getting a reman rack. Good luck finding an used (low miles). I'll keep you'll posted.

Ya same here. Lowest I have seen is $500 for brand new oem. And for cvj and LRO once you send your core back they reimburse you a $100. They also send a free return Shipping slip as well I believe for your core rack.

If you wheel at all I would suggest going with a new OEM rack. Should be able to find one for ~$600 shipped. Do it right or do it twice. Getting one swapped in is on my to-do list.

Myself and a lot of others aren't completely satisfied with Rack Doctor. Mine's leaking slightly, and the ITREs they use are junk.

Nice! I came up from 265 to 285 on 4.10's and really have not noticed a huge difference. Really only when starting from a stop in 1st is a bit slower to get going but nothing terrible.

Once I put my TW decal on the back window I think I gained 10hp so it all worked out :benchpress:

New Racks for $550ish? Well then I definately stand corrected. Mind sending me the link or where from? Thanks.

Edit: I just confirmed w/my local dealership connection and I definately stand correct. Screw Napa - I'm going OEM as well. I learned something today.

I've only noticed problems off-road where I'm bogging down so I'd rather not multiply that problem
