3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Snugtop shell update after ~17,000 miles - No leaks, no cracks, no errors...has been perfect...upon installation the front of the truck bed was sealed up to where it would meet the shell as well as around the truck tailgate when in the closed position...the biggest leaks of water or dust were from the little drain holes in the bottom of the side cubby holes...

 

Got the grill and skid plate on. Still waiting on the sliders.

 

hey guys! Future 3rd ten quick sand owner here! How's this color doing in terms of showing scratches from brush and those little hairline scratches from poor car washes? I have a 2nd gen silver taco that hides things well. Meanwhile my wife's black rav4 shows everything. So bad.

I have had a dark green 1st Gen and a sliver second gen. I use and abuse my truck on jeep trails and end up with a bunch of brush and tree scratches. The quicksand does not hide them as good as metallic silvers but much better than my dark green tacoma did. I don't want you to give away your secret but what paint are you using. I already own the tumblers and would like to paint myself.

If you had 20oz-ers I would have grabbed one but 30oz is too big for me. That looks really awesome though!

Yes, i believe you have to choose the appearance package to receive the caramel interior.

 

Wow, that grille/wheel & tire combo looks great! Are those 265/75/16 Duratracs on FJ Trail Teams? Any wheel spacers? More pics too!

 

Speaking of RTIC...the tan color matches quicksand quite nicely

 

Good catch, they're 265/70/16. No spacers, the FJ wheels have a larger offset than stock. There's another picture on my media page.

Hello everyone I am new to TW and I just got a new 2017 Quicksand Tacoma SR5. I'm absolutely loving it and looking forward to customizing it. Ive got some 17" TRD Matte Black wheels I am going to put on it and a tonneau cover. I think after looking at some of your Tacos I want to blackout the badging too. I have seen some good looking quicksand tacos on here tonight and it's got me inspired and psyched! Will post more as I make progress. Thanks for the outlet!
