That's a pretty sweet complete set up. Would be most interested in the Deavers and if he was first owner, mileage on them, and if he carried a lot of weight in the bed for work. I had a used set of Deaver J66 leafs and loved the ride on them but they started to sag. Deaver can re-arch them but it was like $420 for the rebuild. I ended up selling and getting a set of dakars... Ride is not as good but can carry weight and camp without worrying about sagging out.

Really have thought about it too, could even do it in the tacoma too. Make a wooden sleeping platform with a drawers & storage system in the bed & get a hard top so I can sleep/live back there. Would be awesome to explore outside of California.

I'm hoping it's the fuel filter because after that I don't know what it would be. Also I think I should get a locker before doing that trek, what do you think? I feel like it'll help since I do want to explore back country. For example I would absolutely love to go to Staircase Escalante in Utah, I wouldn't try to do any hard wheeling but I feel it would be good to have a locker just in case

I went all over in my VW van. Granted VWs are pretty boss off-road. I wouldn't worry about a locker. You could buy a lot of gear/gas for the cost of a locker.

That you can, that you can. With how the internet is now a days I bet I could always find some labor gigs along the way for extra funds, or hell photo gigs too.
So how was traveling around in a vehicle anyways? I'd love to hear your opinion/stories

@Nicklovin have you looked into a lunchbox locker like an Aussie or Lockrite? Sure, they're not as desirable as selectable ARBs but they're 1/3 the price and do the job just as well, just have to be mindful of how you drive around town (basically don't gun it through turns and you're fine). I had one in my old Prerunner back in my college days, when I wanted to wheel my 2wd but couldn't afford an ARB. Its an option anyway.

Definitley should figure out the MPG issue first, if you haven't changed out the fuel filter yet that's a good place to start. I changed mine out right after I got my truck, they're cheap and easy to do on the 3.4l but I hear they're more of a pain to get to with the 2.7. Mine's tucked up in the frame rail behind the driver seat, I think yours is in the engine compartment

I have looked into both of those actually, just hear so many people complaining about an all time locker & so many people saying it's fine. Yin & Yang... plus the way I drive might not be the best thing to have when prerunning.
The fuel filter is tucked into a really weird in the engine compartment & proves to be quite a bitch to get to. I've seen people resort to pulling off the front driver wheel & just accessing the fuel filter from behind the wheel

I honestly didn't know how much they usually go for, just wanted to share what I saw :D If I were to buy those King's what else would I need to complete the kit? I don't know much about lifting trucks, this is my first Tacoma/truck. The Icon kits include UCA's and such but those are around ~3k for the shocks with resi.
