You would absolutely have to widen the grip to make a double stack 10mm 1911. To stagger it slightly, no. But would the juice be worth the squeeze of its only one round (likely since the 10mm .40 inch casing isn't much smaller than the. 45 inch casing) improvement that may hinder the weapon less reliable?

I'll take every round that I can get! There are plenty of other autoloaders with slightly staggard magazines, like the M&P Shield and the XDs. I own both of those, and they both work just fine.

But they aren't a 1911.... those you own were designed to work with that set up.

I understand they're not 1911's, but I don't think it would have negatively affected the 1911's chambered in 10mm if they had slightly increased the magazine capacity. I do like the 10mm 1911's. I prefer the design of the 1911 to the Glock and I would love to have a Delta Elite in my collection! But I chose to buy the Glock 20 for a hunting pistol instead of the Springfield 1911 chambered in 10mm because of the magazine capacity.

I bought and carried the G20 when I lived in Washington, mostly for protection from Bear and Cogar.

Not saying I wouldn't want one... Just don't think I'd buy it for a hunting sidearm!

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
Just got back from the range. Shot my 1911 in 10mm and my wife's 1911 in 45acp as well as her Kriss Vector in a 45acp. Had a good time shooting untill the two guys next to us started crying about how they saw sparks and how they felt in danger of getting hit by "shrapnel" when my wife was shooting. The first time I let it slide. The second time the guy came up to me and told me something about how he has been hit before by shrapnel in the leg. I told him "so have I, and what?" I think he got the hint I was starting to get annoyed with his constant complaining. He pissed my wife off enough that she no longer wanted to shoot until he left. This of course pissed me off more. So I put atleast 200rnds through my 10mm in just a pissed off rage shooting.

P.S no she wasn't hitting high or hitting the carrier I was looking down range to see where the sparks where coming from and they where from the back wall. Either way home now and cleaning the guns. Here is picture of my 10mm. Its a full size Titanium Frame with a commander slide20160302_100838.jpg

They were just whiney because their fragile manhoods felt threatened by the fact that your wife was outshooting them, lol.

Range weenies apparently pop up everywhere; at least it's not just at mine.

Beautiful piece you got there. I have two kimbers myself, 1911s def kick ass! As far as those two guys, they either need to reapply for their man cards or just sell their guns and accept they don't have enough testicle fortitude to own them. Makes you wonder if they are the type to get PTSD from being at a range? I give you props though that you were able to refrain from getting into those guys, I would of started to heckle them back and try to embarrass them enough to leave.

I used to take my niece to shooting range, her favorite thing was to embarrass the boys. She is an excellent shooter, we actually had guys pack their crap up and leave cause they couldn't hang with her and get frustrated.

I remember a couple of years ago (2?) I was at the range sighting in my 7mm Rem Mag and a guy was shooting an AR down the line. Big guy, tall and fairly muscly, maybe around 200-220 or so. He came over and (politely) asked if I could try to limit my shooting to when he was reloading because the report from my gun was startling him & throwing his aim off. At an outdoor range.

God forbid what he would have done if I'd been shooting a 7mm RUM or Win. 300 or something.

I obliged to be agreeable (since I was sighting in a scope I was only touching off a round every couple of minutes anyway), and offered to let him fire off a couple of rounds with my gun once I got it sighted in. He had a recoil flinch like you wouldn't believe; couldn't even put one on the paper at 100 yards with my gun. :notsure:

Seriously? I am assuming the individual was not prior military. Were there any torn-off corners of his man card?
