The advice I've read on the forum relative to diff drop kits is they are not needed with a 3" lift.

Debating between these two kits. Stage 4 with Billet Arms or Stage 5 with tubular, thoughts?

Two weeks I will install. I've actually decided to not install an AAL at all and drop the front to level. I really just wanted to have better shocks without too much lifting just yet. I'll probably change my mind later.

Stage 5 with Tubular if you're between the 2. The 2.5" bodied rear shocks are a much more useful upgrade than the billet UCA's. I would recommend adding the CDC adjusters (Stage 6) to both front and rear since its only a $500 upgrade to to initially or you're looking at almost $1700 to add them down the road. Shoot me a PM and I will get you pricing. We are Icons largest stocking distributor and have all 3 kits in stock and offer a TW discount.

I'm not sure of the difference between the two UCAs besides the price and look. But if the difference isn't that much i would go with the Stage 5 kit due to you get better Rear Struts. I ordered a stage 4 with tubular UCAs that i will be installing today and tomorrow.

For general use the majority of people are fine with the standard tubular UCA. In all my years I have yet to see a tubular UCA fail. The difference between the two beside material construction is in the inner pivots. Tubular arms use a standard bushing where the billet arms have an adjustable heim inner pivot that allows you to adjust your caster a little more over the standard arm but this is an adjustment that you will likely only do once during your initial install and the tubular arms already have enough caster adjustment built into them to get the alignment back into spec.

Unless you know the ins and outs of adjusting bypasses the Stage 7 kit might be a little excessive and the money is better spent adding the rear bump stop kit. The CDC's are incredibly easy to adjust on the fly depending on what you're doing with the truck that day.

What determines the need for rear bump stops?

there isn't really a point where they are needed, its just another step in the suspension build progression. Replacing the hard rubber bumps with a pressurized air bump will further alleviate the hard bottoming out when the rear end is compressed and control up travel better when articulating

Sorry man, I had already been working with a vendor who had been helping me quite a bit. Just wanted to grab a second opinion before I dropped the extra coin. Thanks again for the insight. I will be sure to reach out to you on the next project.

Lets us know how this all goes and the numbers you get when done. I am on the fence with this kit right now.
