You guys have to admit, starting out the gate winning is much more appreciated and expected in Canada. It's a poor excuse but seems to be the norm in warm weather markets where there is much to do and hockey is not high on the list.

Relax. Seriously do you think the Senators have any chance of making noise in the playoffs this year? I doubt they will even make it in let alone do anything. Yes, they have a great #1 defenceman and a couple of good young players that can put the puck in the net but beyond that... yeah it's not even close to enough. Likely both Ontario teams will find themselves picking high in the draft this year.

LA will probably beat Dallas if you feel like a long shot.

 

I think they will most likely make the playoffs but probably not go too far. Only time will tell, really. I'd like to think I'm pretty realistic about the chances, but I got no crystal ball.

 

In two of the last three years the Leafs have won 3 or more games in a row to start the season. It goes to show you what that means...

I'm having fun watching the kids play. Tonight, and in the first game, they learned two things. One is that they can't play for 30 minutes and score 4 goals while expecting to win. The evenness in the league doesn't allow for that. Even the worse team in the NHL can bite you if you take your foot off the gas. The second issue is the reliance on Andersen to be a superstar. I mean time will tell on him but right now he looks really shaky. That third goal was brutal and the new equipment is not working out for him right now. He's going to have no confidence at this rate and that doesn't bold well for the future with the contract he is signed to. The team needs to put a better effort forward in front of him.

 

Truth. For all we know Florida will win their first cup this year. No, I'm not serious on that actually being a likely scenario.

 

You might as well say the Kings are going to win the cup this year. LOLZ

It wouldn't be the first time. I'm not ready to call the press on that one yet though. He did play well in Boston and in the first 30 minutes against the Jets. Three games in, he needs more time with the new equipment.
