Walmart sells both and there is no difference between the duratracs they sell and ones you buy other places. The authorities are a lot less expensive, I don't know how they compare for mileage of use, but from what I've heard the authorities are good tires.

Agreed, I had Duratracs then went to the BFG's, not a huge disappointment, but the Duratracs in my case at least seemed to have way better tread wear, and seemed to be a better tire.

I'm running the RT with close mileage percentages, The slight whine of the RT might not be for everyone.

Cooper ST Maxx here. I bought them on the Labor Day sale. Sitting in the garage waiting for the BFGs to wear out. I have heard a lot of good things about them.

Well then....Let me rephrase that.....Walmart does NOT sell Duratracs around here.....I contacted 3 Walmarts and a Sams Club in the Louisville area. None of which offer Duratracs.

wasnt trying to be an ass. You can order them online and have them put on once delivered. Also can have many different ones ordered through the store that most people never get told about.

I wasn't trying to dispute your claim, nor was I calling you an ass.....Just was unable to get Duratracs through local Walmart. That ended up being irrelevant.....Local tire shop had 'em really cheap at the time I bought mine.

I have Nitto Trail Grapplers. They are mud tires, but only have a slight hum on the road. I'm on the highway 90-95%. They came on the truck when I bought it. They are great on wet and dry pavement. I can't see where they would be bad in snow. Snow is the main reason I have 4x4. I have to make sure I can go at all times. I'm sure in the next couple of months I will find out. Between your 2 choices I'd go with the duratracs. You get the best of both worlds. The middle is all terain and the shoulders have large lugs to get you through some mud.

Amazing. They're snowflake rated, and i run them year round. my set's going on their 3rd winter and have over 50000km (31000 mi) and still have approx 9/32 tread left. I have a 2WD prerunner and just run with about 240lbs of sand socks in the back. it's all in how you drive really.
