Last day in the dirty dirty. I can't wait to go home, but I also don't want to go home

 

Hum no thanks but speaking of LED headlights I was driving the other day and a car had some LED headlights that I thought were on high beam so I flashed and that's when he flashed his high beams at me. Wow were those things were bright! Now I couldn't tell what kind of car it was but it did have 4 dots per light like a Porsche 911 but it wasn't one of them. I really think they were a good aftermarket light that were not aimed correctly but I'll say one thing, they were blinding!

That's cause the LEDs headlights scatter like hids when used in reflector housings. Plus like you said they were probably mis-aligned

 

Part of why I haven't upgraded mine; I haven't yet found a review for an LED setup for the factory housings that doesn't scatter and blind everybody you meet. I'd like brighter lights, but not at the expense of everybody beaming me, lol.

I have LEDs in my headlights right now, but been thinking about biting the bullet and spending the $$ to get retros. I think those are probably the way to go for "better" lighting, right?! Not to mention how cool they look, or how cool you can make them look.

 

I don't really care how they look, I just want the max throw down road. LED in reflector housings just don't throw.as far as standard halogens. Sure they are bright as shit close, but I want distance. Plus I can't imagine that bright ass white light is going to do anything but reflect off snow/rain and reduce visibility in poor weather.

 

Same. With the number of deer and other critters that I meet on the road every year I want to be able to spot them a long damn ways off. Especially ones like moose, who are so dark that they blend in until you get too close to stop, unless you're throwing a beam way down the road.

Normally, I would agree with you guys and that is the reason I've avoided them until now. This kit in particular has great reviews and seems to be well liked even by the 'retrofit nazis' over on the F150 forums. The vendor has run a few promotions and even the people who were dead set against his kit really came around after seeing them in person. That's honestly the only reason I'm giving them a chance. If they produce glare to oncoming traffic, those of you who know me and how anal I am about lighting know they'll be yanked out immediately. This post is from the same housing as mine:

Was thinking about getting these also. Did you install them yet? If so how you like them?

 

Not bad. looks like a pretty coherent beam without a ton of scatter. I'm definitely tempted. The problem is that the '16's have the dual bulb headlights so I'm looking at 2 kits plus two ballast relocation kits.

 

Getting them today actually!!!! Can't wait!

I have the morimoto fogs and love them. The only thing I am yet to do is adjust the aim after lifting the truck, which will be a while longer as I am currently on crutches. My knee is about double the size it should be lol

 

Yep, those be them!

Eww. That sucks. But now's the time, get them when the truck is new so you can really get the most out of the LEDs.

 

Yeah but like I said these were 4 little dots around a housing. Thinking it was a whole new aftermarket housing because they only car I could think of was a new 911 but it definitely wasn't one of those.

Picked them up on here, someone selling them, so getting them today according to the tracking info I got. Can't wait!
