Search idea

    I don't know if this was brought up before....

    Perhaps, with the newer folks or people with under a certain amount of total posts....?? If they want to post a new thread, maybe a box comes up that says "Did you try searching the forum?" and inside that box IS the search button so they can type in whatever they're searching for.

    This might be annoying to some but that's the whole idea...to engrave their minds to use the search feature first. Then - when they reach a certain post count (???) that warning would go away?

    Just a thought.....

    it is a good idea...i'm working on that for everybody not just noobs. it'll show similar existing threads before you finish creating the new thread. and if the thread they create is a dupe, a hammer comes outta their screen and conks them on the head

    just found this idea put to use on another site, android forums to be exact. when you click the link to open a new thread, then you type in the name of your new thread, the site auto-searches and brings up a box (kind of like the "similar threads" box at the bottom of every page)

    perhaps there's a way to implement this??
