Exactly the info I was looking for, thanks again! I owe you one.

I'll ask about the head gasket recall and take a look at the wheel wells.

Most 1st and 2nd gens will have a saggy butt too. The 3.0 isn't too bad reliability wise except for the head gasket. I would also check the rear window to make sure it rolls down and check the rear wiper as well(if you care about it working).

Will do. I don't mind if it's slow, I drove an '87 4 cylinder Toyota Pickup for over 5 years. As long as the 3.0 is decently reliable for some trail riding and camping trips. Did the 2nd gens also have coil springs in the rear?

Yes for the second gen they went from leaf to coils. Has the same front suspension as the 1st gen though.

Damn, just got the call. A guy apparently in line ahead of me bought it yesterday afternoon. I figured it'd go fast but that's a tough break to lose out by less than 24 hours. :pout:

That is definitely an issue with Toyotas. Good deals go pretty fast.

Are you looking specifically at 2nd gens?

I would rock a second gen 3.0 manual with a blazeland LT kit

Not necessarily. I love the look of the 2nd gens and they're usually pretty affordable.

There's another one on my radar right now. It's a 1996 which would be 3rd gen, right?: https://columbusga.craigslist.org/cto/5809888697.html

Not exactly the look I'm going for and it's also about $2k over KBB value, BUT it's low miles, 4wd, and still for sale as of this AM.

Deals can be found on 3rd gens as well. It has pretty low miles and a limited. Might have an e-locker. I bought mine for $3400 but has 215k miles but had the e-locker.

Nice. I'll keep an eye out for the e-locker switch. Is it on the dashboard like the Tacomas?

KBB says $3,800 for a limited 4wd in excellent condition. I'm probably going to try to work around that price point.

It's on the left hand side of the dash by the steering wheel. In CO that's a decent price for a low mileage 3rd gen. But CO loves their Toyotas

Got tired of the old worn out look of my front skids. Don't laugh at the signals, my LEDs are still in China :(

Haha your turn signals are better than might right now. I was clearing out all the old wiring from factory fogs and what not and I just so happened to clean out all my blinker wiring :frusty:
