I also noticed that most of the trucks in this thread do not have the TRD skid plates. Mine came with them, and I assumed they were part of the package. I've already removed them in favor of a full set of BudBuilts, and gave them to a buddy with and SR5.

Yeah mine didn't come with the TRD skid plate and I'm glad it didn't either. Offers almost zero protection for the people who offroad

The TRD Pro also gives you Entune with Nav (though the nav is typical Toy stuff so not great) and a leather shift knob, and fancy Pro carpet mats (they are in a box in my garage replaced by Husky Liners)

Or you can go extreme like I did on my Pro and sell the TRD Exhaust and bolt on stock factory exhaust. Sold my TRD Exhaust with 1200 miles on it for $275 (less the big SS tip) and bought a new take off stock exhaust for $100. Still looks like the Pro Exhaust and sounds much quieter. No notable change in power and mileage is pretty much the same also. Just no drone anymore!

So I called a few tire shops today, and apparently BFG KO2 in 285/75/16 are only available in 10 ply, load E. Should I be concerned about the weight? Really wanted load C or D.

I am running them on my Baja and haven't really noticed much of a difference as far as acceleration.
My commute is short and surface streets only so not sure about any hit to gas mileage.

the ko2 load e are heavy, but i like it. i think i get around 220-240 to the tank in the city. If your concerned about mileage and dont off road much dont get it.

Installed the front spacers today, and the truck looks awesome. Sits almost perfectly level. With the spacers and the AAL, with a tape measure off the floor to the fender, 1" exactly higher in th rear. Now to get my 285's, truck is gonna look WAY higher!

Hey I have been tossing around the idea here for awhile now. I am going to do the ToyTec 1" lift for the front but don't like how low the back sits (Cali Squat?). I was wondering if I got the ToyTec 2" BOSS leaf pack for the read that it would level me out. Maybe some shock extensions required?

I also removed my BAJA stickers in July, at that time my truck was about 4 years old. Stickers came off super easily with the summer heat and the use of my wifes hair dryer(took about 30mins to do all stickers on both sides). My truck is black, and there was some shadowing showing where they used to be. I took truck to local body shop and they corrected shadowing for about $200. I was nervous at first but, I really disliked the stickers so I took the chance and it turned out great. You can not tell in any way that they were on there(paint looks exactly the same).

Is the loss of street cred worth the risk to become a sleeper Baja?:notsure:

Well, I was looking for a TRD OR in black and I came across a BAJA for less money then I could find a OR for. So, I figured since the baja started as a OR and it had cool suspension, why not. So, after removing stickers and swapping TRD exhaust out for OEM I couldnt be happier(and I cant forget about the 285's).

Nice man you got 285's on yours? I have been contemplating going up a size. How is the clearance with those?

I have had no issues with the 285s on stock suspension. Keep in mind I dont really off road. But, they look to have plenty of clearance and never come close to rubbing in normal driving. But, there is a slight power loss. Well worth it IMO.
