I love this bastard. It gets me from point A to point B, no matter what the hell is between the two points. However, I have 10 or so chips between the hood and behind the wheel wells from rocks and whatnot and I haven't had the truck 3 months. I drive the same roads I've driven with my last 3 vehicles (all fords), and none of them had this issue. At this rate this bitch will be barcelona primer in 2 years. Lock it up Toyota.

    classic Japanese car problem...

get better mud flaps like the rock star ones that stick out, or clear bra or wrap it or wax the truck all the time

oh yea and stop tailgating people... that helps a lot also

How weird. The front end of my honda looks like I drove through an astroid belt but I haven't found a scratch my my taco that I didn't cause myself. :plane:

Too poor to list anything interesting.
My only issue with this thread is that the first post gif doesn't have text.

I've had my gen 1 for 17 years, 191k miles on it, no rock chips. Maybe you got bad paint? What color did you get?

I love when new cars go back and say I got bad paint I needs warranty...

I have never ever seen a shop paint a car better than the factory.

obviously I am not considering a 50k+ body paint work as acceptable in this argument. because that just does not make sense for a toyota DD taco.

There is no substitute for the factory finish.
Buuuuuttt....... As thick as that chip guard is on the rockets and doors, I still picked up a couple chips in the first week before I got my mudguards.

The bigger problem is that they no longer make the mudguards standard on the trucks. That has been my only complaint so far

Import paint generally sucks, every Honda, Toyota, Mazda has sucked. My fords vehicles have always had better paint, now motors on the other hand aside from my ranger that's a different story
