Then why buy a 4x4? It isn't needed here by any means and not much to do with in a descent distance for fun or necessity. Wish I lived in Colorado, so much to see and do near by, can't wait to get up there again.

    Spoken like a true poseur...

    1st Gen Taco 4WD vs. 2WD Locker:

Results show 2WD is not basically the same as 4WD.

Also, I don't get the flaming of a enthusiast who bought a Tacoma and comes to a Tacoma forum to seek aid from fellow enthusiasts only to get flamed. This kind of stuff would not happen in person, so why does it happen on the internet? Save the flaming for the FWD Ridgeline.

Are you going to lend the OP your truck so he can learn? I would think you would be the best to teach him

Says the 2 wheel drive Tacoma owner...How is taking a 2 wheel drive vehicle off road not "some real poser shit dude"? Locker or not, I don't think you have room to talk.

wow so much bad info. i couldnt get past the first couple posts. this isnt awd and you shouldnt use it just because. it is dangerous in the wrong scenarios(any turn) and can be a very costly mistake. and dont be the guy trying to warranty a front differential because you decided to lubricate seals on pavement

edit: dont even consider 4lo. pretend that setting doesnt exist until you fully understand what it does

Sorry SOCAL guys. I'm an East coast guy and used it for the beach in Florida and snow in Maine. My theory: "If you ever need it even once, it's something you should have".

when i sold cars i loved that mentality. "99% of the time its just me but around xmas i might go out to dinner with the whole family so i think i need this suburban. " thats gotta be one of the worst theories ever. id have to have a 100x50' garage for all the one time tools by your theory

Pretty simple. The difference between Independence and Dependence. Hope I'm not the only guy around if you need a recovery, . . . or a Crescent Wrench.

My collection of tools confirms your hypothesis, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

I do like being self reliant and (over) prepared, though. I'm always the guy bailing out people when they come camping and realize they've forgotten half their shit and the other half is broken. Rest easy knowing I got ten spares for everything.

Most people around here are told what to do, and what to like. Kinda like Wall-E from Disney, and pay people to tell them what to like and such.
There are no leaders it seams only sheep. In a manner of speaking.

Nope, that's not a bad thing...

Maybe there are so many Tacoma's because people don't want to drive the alternative? That doesn't make it "watered down" IMO

I am probably one of what? A great awesome person, well yep how did you know?

Hmmm, interesting that a material thing makes a supreme feel good?

Not sure what you mean here, until I read your post below.

So you screen name is fitting for you, just like to point out that due to your supremeness every one is trying to follow you, thanks because I would have never bought my first Tacoma years ago, I would have just followed that dumb ass crowd of "Buy American" sheep.

Dude, I don't no shit about you, but by reading your posts, I am glad I don't know you.
