Oh, they will see it at some point, and then someone will call him out on it, and the wheel will keep on turning......or will it? Does it have power to another wheel? Or is it spinning in the air? (cue "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey) I don't know anymore....

You said both wheels get the same power all the time, which is wrong. Are you sticking to that theory?

Mine does all wheel steering too. Really confuses the locker and diffs and the cv axles. Tie rods are just pissed.

That's where the spare wheel is geared (also known as 5Lo). Different topic.

Holy christ!! I hope you never have to explain sex to young person. Theyll be stickin their dick in a tree stump with all that confusion. Your initial explanations are misleading. Youre leaving out vital pieces of info.

This is from How Stuff Works.

Remember that the open differential always applies the same torque to both wheels, and the maximum amount of torque is limited to the greatest amount that will not make the wheels slip. It doesn't take much torque to make a tire slip on ice. And when the wheel with good traction is only getting the very small amount of torque that can be applied to the wheel with less traction, your car isn't going to move very much.

The solution to these problems is the limited slip differential (LSD), sometimes called positraction. Limited slip differentials use various mechanisms to allow normal differential action when going around turns. When a wheel slips, they allow more torque to be transferred to the non-slipping wheel.

I'm still really confused about this....when both wheels are turning with traction, power is being delivered to both wheels. Yes? But when one wheel loses traction (and spins), now there's ZERO power delivered to both wheels? That makes no sense. The definition of Power is "....the rate of doing work. It is the amount of energy consumed per unit time. Having no direction, it is a scalar quantity."

The spinning wheel is consuming energy, while the non-spinning wheel is NOT consuming energy. Therefore, the power is being transferred to the path of least resistance....which is the spinning wheel!!! What am I missing???
