Better to ask what I have not done.
Any one have a smith and wesson m&p? Thoughts? Looked at one, a ruger and a Springfield. Cant remember models other then the s&w but just starting to look at things. Liked the trigger on the rugger but liked everything else on the s&w other then the trigger. Any one know if the s&w trigger can be changed.

You can put a apex trigger in the S&W.

I had one for some time didn't shoot it much! Ended up selling it cause i dident want to put money into it for a trigger. I love my 1911 and FNH FNX tactical.

Midway USA has them so you can see.

    http://www.midwayusa.com/s?userSearchQuery=Apex+trigger&uac=true

You might look at the sig Sauer P320 and the HK VP9 or 40 the Walther PPQ as well all have pretty good factory striker fire triggers.

    I was ballin.

I have the m&p full size as well as the m&p shield. You can change the trigger, but the one they have on their new one is updated from the old triggers. I actually like it a lot.

Yeah FN is sometimes easy to find than all of a sudden none to be found.

I have a FNX in 45 kind of a large pistol not meant for carry. I am more of a hammer guy I like having single action or every trigger style in one gun lol.

Have not shot the FNS striker fire yet.

And that's what makes it all personal preference. I like the xdm, but hate the triggers.

    Oh definitely.

I've had a gunsmith botch a trigger job on a GP100, and I had a replacement trigger for my 1895 and the 1895 trigger took it from a gritty 7 lbs to a glass-breaking 3.5 lbs or so.

So for those of you with experience with a lot of different hand guns. I've gotten very used to hand guns with hammers, double action, and thumb safety switches.

What are the pros and cons of something like the XD, with the dovetail safety and that double looking trigger (not sure what that doo-hickey is called)?

    Never enough
I have nothing but good things to say about any Springfield XD pistols I've shot. I also really like my Sig P320. I know no one has mentioned it, but I had a glock 17 and sold it because I didn't like it too much.
