No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
I have brought this up at my dealer and they have yet to offer a fix as they cannot replicate. I am at 25k and it has probably happened a dozen or so times. I always know when it does because my dash lights reset to the factory default also, which is much lower than i run them.

I did not know that. I remember now turning them back up one night. Couldn't remember turning them down. That explains that...

I am so glad to say that my truck is going to get the gauge cluster replaced. Took the truck to Toyota today and they ordered the cluster. I am so excited.

Tell them to call their Field Tech advisor. My Toyota dealership called him and was told that they have had reports of this happening to other Tacoma's. Then instructed to change out the cluster.

Another problem bites the dust, how long did it take them to replace the cluster?
I could see them dragging out the time to 3-4 hours. Hopefully not.

Hey and thanks for the TSB info!

Unfortunately, what I hear, is your truck has to remain with the shop for a period of days while they remove the cluster, send it where ever it has to go for receiving or repairing so the reinstallation cluster is the same mileage indicated.

Took 3 days. After them receiving the cluster. It took a half hour to change. No repair of the cluster. It a complete new cluster.

They have to order the new one and the factory sets it to your current mileage. This eliminates any mileage conflicts on a carfax down the road. This is good because years ago they would give you a zero miles new one with a statement label under the hood. That created a lot of issues when you sold or bought the car. The title would simply state NOT ACTUAL MILES. At that point selling it became more difficult.

    Low and behold.
T-SB-0148-16 has been issued (18 Oct. 2016) and my '16 goes in for corrective surgery this coming week.
Took 11 months and 8700 miles to get here.
    Happy Camper. 20161106_091145.jpg
Oh, and no less than 17 resets.

Nearing 4 months since mine was replaced. Have not had any more resets. I knew a TSB would eventually come out. Glad for everyone with the issue. It was a pain for me as I constantly monitor mpg's.

I think mileage information is contained in the ECU, the cluster is just a display.... as I've understood it.

Perhaps within the cluster is the shorts/root of the problem.
All I believe is that 100% of the replaced clusters have functioned without fail.
    Anyone disagree?
