I don't know, I just had a sandwich with the tri tip I used my own rub on and smoked, pretty good and not over salty and not spicy. meat was very tender even after it was warmed in the microwave. The santa maria ones are good but tend to be really salty. there good if your in a hurry or camping, but if your at home start experimenting and using some of the recipes that can be found online. A simple one I have been doing for a while now is pappy's low sodium and a few other seasons like fresh ground pepper or garlic then smoke it for a few hrs if I have time, if not smoke for 1 hr then turn it up or through it on the grill until its done on the meat thermometer to my desired med rare setting. The thermometer is the key for getting good results every time.
