I totally agree! Auto LSD is simply traction control. It's not an off-road enhancement by any means. And it's not truly a limited slip either. It's a cool marketing term to make people feel safer while they take their dog to the dog park.

Are you dead set on arguing with me? I simply posted an OEM locker solution. I've worked on tens of thousands of 99-2017 trucks. Never seen a g80 fail

While your statement is correct that it is a form of "traction control" it does it by means beneficial to Off-roading. Unlike typical traction control that just cuts throttle.

Typical traction control cuts throttle, applies brake to spinning wheel, and cuts fuel/spark as needed

Toyota's E-LSD system also called TRAC in 4H does NOT cut the throttle. VSC does.

Hence the word "typical". I'm referring to every manufacturer except Toyota. They have proven to be piss poor programmers

Not that I'm aware of. I try to maintain traction through the gas pedal. I haven't been wheeling much since then, just working all the time.

Also, will the lack of adding the LSD additive destroy the clutches or just let them slip(not do their job) until the additive is used?

AUTO LSD requires a quick push of the VSC button to turn on or back off. See the AUTO LSD light only come on after pushing the button? This is our better 'Posi-Traction' over standard TRAC in 2WD.

TRAC in 4WD-HI from 2009 to 2011 was the same as AUTO LSD (ie. no engine regulation for a stronger traction control). However, to help keep us confused, Toyota added a new mode for 4WD in 2012. They made TRAC in H4 the same, regulated limited slip as it is in H2 and added TRAC OFF (requiring a button push) in H4 to have the stronger traction control, ie. with regulation turned OFF.

VSC, while connected to TRAC functions is NOT a traction system. It is designed to help you stay driving in the direction you intend, at speed, if you begin to slide sideways. VSC is a braking system while at speed and TRAC uses both engine regulation and brakes to help you get moving from a stop or traction loss. TRAC OFF & AUTO LSD use only the brakes to move you from a stop or stuck.

gotcha. Well, @lleoo23 have all your questions been answered? Think I'm gonna leave before this becomes a pissing contest between GM and Toyota differentials
