Your argument against them is pretty strong.

It's just a joke here. K02s are very highly regarded here.

Thanks for clarifying. Haven't been active on this site for a while. Back on here starting to research before purchasing a 3rd gen.

Of course they're worn on the sidewall. That happens when you blow out a tire at speed and end up riding on the sidewall of the deflated tire while you come to a stop.

Does the Toyota dealership not sell Toyo tires?

I had goodyears and Toyo said they don't warranty tires. I ended up going through an independent shop and getting the 2 covered and credit for the other 2 and went with Wildpeaks.

according to Toyo they make/provide the open country tires i have for toyota and other models for other toyota vehicles. so they should be an oem item they have in their parts dept. the lady at Toyo said they get this a lot from Toyota where they try the whole oh no you dont handle that here and they brush you off. but she said she created a case her and when im there to have them call them while im there and she will explain it to them. the dealership i go to apparently did the same thing earlier this week and she had to correct them.

15k miles and you expect them to warranty a tire? As if nothing could have happened to cause that in the 15,000 miles you've driven it

Honestly though, it probably was defective, but since the factory only gives out junk tires that only last 25-30k anyways, i'd take it as an opportunity to upgrade to real tires.

Wear and tear items are not covered under the 3/36k warranty (Brakes, rotors, belts, tires, windshields, etc)

This is a Toyo warranty issue not a Toyota issue. It still has to be done through Toyota but all at the same time being done through Toyo.

If you purchase the tire warranty, Toyota will cover it at a prorated rate. Honestly only worth it if you get a normal flat. Sidewall blowout would have been a waste of money since it looks to be a manufacture defect.

thats a pretty shitty warranty then. People give domestics a hard time, at least they will stand behind their cars while under the warranty period.

so if the engine and trans break, thats ok too? Because you could have damaged them in 15k miles.

no its not. I've replaced tires on new vehicle, prorated past 10k. I've put brakes, rotors, etc on vehicle up to 50k (cadillac, buick) and 36k on GMC and chevrolet.
