The truck has bumper to bumper 3/36. Drive train is 5/60. Most emissions are 8/75. So your warranty is much more than 3/36. Just wanted to be clear and mislead people to think that Toyota has the worst warranty.

lets be clear. 3/36k is industry standard for bumper to bumper, which tires are part of (excluding wear) which is the topic. If OP was asking about emissions or powertrain, I'd reference those guidelines.

OEM tires are junk on all but the highest end vehicles. Usually at the low end of the tire manufacturer product line. The Dunlops on the '12 FJ I had started splitting longitudinally at 10K miles. I replaced all with Michelin LTX MS2's.

Since you mention Cadillac I will post the GM owners manual just for you

Maintenance items after 7500 miles are not covered. This is the period where defects are present and are able to be replaced. So if you drive to 10,000 miles and go in for a wear and tear item to be replaced under warranty, be prepared to be laughed out of the dealership.

"Any replacement at the time of, or beyond the maintenance inspection period is considered maintenance, and is not covered as part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty only covers components when replacement or repair of these components is the result of a defect in material or workmanship. * Consumable battery covered up to 12 months only. ** Maintenance items after 7,500 miles."

I work for them and make warranty authorizations. But since you're the internet expert, you know more than me.

I work in the industry as well and deal with all manufactures on a daily basis. So good luck with your claims

EDIT: What Cadillac dealer do you work for? I need to note it down next time my boss needs tires or brakes on his 2016 Escalade so we can get it covered under warranty

I work for the largest independent leasing company in California. My knowledge is across the board and anyone who actually works in the industry knows that the basic bumper to bumper warranty does NOT cover wear and tear items.

These things are covered under maintenance programs, such as Cadillac offers their "Premium Care Maintenance" which would cover things like oil changes, tire rotations, etc or BMW no cost maintenance that is covered for 3 years 36k miles but is NOT covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. These are all offered SEPARATELY from the bumper to bumper warranty.

If you dragged your engine across asphalt for 15,000 miles, with any number of road hazards present, and something went wrong, I'd gather they would not warranty that.

i just want to see what happens here. 15k seems like it's a little over the point where Toyo/ Toyota would hand over a new tire. but who knows. tires are cheap enough...i would think they'd give one up simply to come out looking like the good guys.
