I do have a garage.... I also have an Annie She would NOT REST until she had found and taken care of Izzy :( You should see what she did to a trash can that had a baby bird nest in it.

Annie is way too interested in them and it wouldn't be fair with the kitty not at her best. She'll be snug and safe outfront.

Wrong!!! When the work day is done, it's the weekend!!!!

We bought an "igloo" pet house for a stray cat in my neighborhood.

Put some towels in it, and she has now completely moved in, and we have a cat.

Shouldn't use a towel - it will stay wet and make the kitty cold. Use STRAW, not hay to keep the kitty warm and toasty. Don't want to spend that much $$ :anonymous: after paying for her spay/shots. I did think about one of those... if I got an awesome deal, that would be another story

We change her towels out daily when we feed her. It was like 39 at Petco.

EDIT: And we have it on the deck and turned so that rain can't get in.

That's cool! We have several strays around here. The neighbor has 2 outside cats and he and I put some food out for the cats. Our only issue is my wife puts out slot of bird feeders we have had to learn to place them in the wide open or the cats hunt the birds. I'm going to try and build a couple of houses before winter. The 2 cats we have inside were born outside under an old firebird I had

We had a stray live on or front porch for a few years. We called him PorchCat. We lined a large plastic tote with towels, cut a cat sized door and flipped it upside down. He loved it through the winters. We used more towels for bedding but straw would've worked just as well.

Cats hunting birds is simply nature. Birds win more often that the cat does. I do enjoy watching her hunt. And I must say I haven't seen a mouse since she adopted us.
