Mud Flaps - Yes or No?

    2007: Stereo added, back up camera, XM radio antenna, trailer hitch 2017: Tonneau cover (when I figure out which one I want)!
    I'm looking to get mud flaps for a 2017 Tacoma (off road). I saw this link to
    $32 PLASTICOLOR 000543R01 Black Off Road Scene Easy Fit Mud Guard 11" - Set of 2
    11" plasticor mud flaps from another commenter, but I am interested in these
    $40 Plasticolor 000518R01 Black Diamond Plate Style Easy Fit Mud Guard -19 X 11" -Set of 2
    diamond plate plasticor mud flaps, (they are 19"). Would they still fit a 2017 Taco? (Apologies if this is a dumb question - I'm not very mechanical). I have standard tires - are the 19" mud flaps for dual tires, or bigger tires than what come standard with a TRD Off Road Tacoma?

    From the looks of it, the 19 is the length not the width. Both should be 11x19.

    It's not only scratches or rock chips on your own truck that you worry about but plastering the front end or windshield of the car behind you. Some places require them for that very reason.

    Got a set of Rokblokz and while more expensive they are really nice. They will work with larger tires and come with very good directions. Nice to see a well thought out product.

    Are the rockbloxs or Weathertech worth the extra cost for any particular reason, or should I just go with plasticolor? After 10 years my OEM's have all broken off.

    I have the weathertechs and they are good. My concern is that they will break off as soon as they hit something hard enough. If the rockblox are flexible rubber, like old school flaps, then I would guess those are more forgiving and wont get broken or ripped off if you hit a rock.

    I just bought Weathertech because I also needed a bug and rock deflector and they are a great family run company who gave me excellent customer service in the past. I could have gotten them a little cheaper through advace auto with their code, but they gave me a a free set of floor liners and window deflectors once for winning their monthly real world experience email contest, so giving them my loyalty.

    They are bit of both. The are rigid but also flex. Good thick material.

    RokBlokz for the win, they're plug and play. Rokblokz are a great product, had them on my 2012. They bend 90 degrees for offroading but are stiff for onroad.

    They're more expensive because they're delivered to you Tacoma-specific, pre-drilled and slotted with all the mounting hardware including backing spacers. Spacers are needed to make solid connections to the inner OEM mounting points.

    Universal fit flexible flaps are good for bending 90 degrees offroad, but you spend a lot of time getting them measured, drilled, and cut for the truck. Rokblokz, all four corners are on in 20 minutes wheels on the ground with an offset screwdriver.

    When I bought the Tundra I was hoping for Rokblokz but they didn't make them for it, bought CRE universal flexflaps for $80, and spent about six hours measuring, grease penciling, cutting, drilling, finding screws, washers and spacers so they would mount solidly.

    RokBlokz for the win, they're plug and play.

    Are the rokblokz thinner? I have 265/70 17 coopers and the tires rub on the drivers side flap. I understand that it is probably because of the taco lean. Do you save any space with the rokblokz flaps?
