A lot of Americans complain about not being able to get the homelink unless you get the Limited model. I am glad it was included on my Sport.

I just wanted to share these guys for good deals on OEM parts (I have no affiliation). Intend to get my filters from them:

    http://www.toyotapartsdirect.ca/

Used them before for my 1st gen, big discount over local.

Do you need to know, or care?
    Welcome and congrats!

If it was me I would stick with the Suburu in a storm. With the AWD and Michelin's you'll be good to go. I've heard a lot of good things about the Bak, but you do make a valid point about freezing up. If I remember right @over60 has one, but I may be wrong.

No, I have the 2.0 Solid Fold...the newest models of the 2.0 are a problem...do NOT get one.
The dealer where I got mine has warranties a lot of them and he personally upgrader to the Bak Flip model that stands up at the back of the cab... It looks nicer then the 2.0 also.

If I were you, I'd throw some Mich X-ice on the Taco... you will be driving it in black ice, slush, etc all winter... they may save your ass. I love them. OH... Welcome man..!

Is this the OEM cover you're referring to? Please say no haha I ordered it.

    +1 for x ice.
Have them on my jetta just bought a new set. Got 4 season out of my last set and never had a problem with them all winter. Great tires.

Can anyone confirm if we get the sill protectors standard? I don't see them as an option on the toyota site.

Yeah, Joe, the Solid Fold 2.0 was an aftermarket cover, not the OEM. Yes we all get the door sill protectors, I believe....at least the TRD's and up do...

    Good to hear.
Ya I got the OEM one, dealer basically threw it in for free.

Safe to assume TRD OR will have door sills

Learn something new every day. I always thought mudflaps and door sill protectors were options. then again, I've also never bought a new vehicle before

Me too. For me, the only thing I wanted but couldn't get was the JBL stereo upgrade. Now that I've got my truck, the standard stereo is actually pretty decent. I don't think I'll be doing any upgrades on it. Truck has everything I wanted, and nothing I didn't want. Love it!! Had it out today playing in the mud a bit. Forgot a camera though :(
Great ride on and off road.

Thanks for the offer Mike. I actually prefer to do as much of my own maintenance as possible, I enjoy it, and it keeps me in in touch with my ride.
I may talk to service about the transmission tsb. Not a big deal, but mine does lug the motor too much with light loading. Ect mode is good, but you always have to turn it on then. Tranny doesn't like to up shift in cruise where most normally would. So far only small annoyance I've noticed.

That sounds like you are 3/4 of a liter low just like my truck was..! I strongly suggest that you get the fluid level physically checked, topped up, and THEN do the TSB... You will like the change... (From my experience.)

Maybe Mike can get that done for you.??

I have a 2017 DCSB OR and I find that if I'm cruising at above 120kmh, it won't upshift to the 6th gear even on a flat road. Is this normal or does my transmission need a top up too?

    Couple of questions.

1- Did you notice a significant change?

2- Did you have the transmission level checked manually?

    Thx.

    1. It shifts better now. Also has better throttle response.

    2. I had the transmission checked. It was a bit low. But expect to wait a few hours for this to be done. I drove the truck to the dealership which meant the transmission was at operating temps. They had to let the fluids cool down so they could get the temps into the proper range to check the fluid level. Some people complain about how long it takes to check the transmission level. But if you want it done right expect to wait.
