How's it goin guys. I'm new to the wonderful world of Tacomas since I just bought my first one, and I really wanted to throw on the Westin 1-peice sportsman grille guard, but then I read that you had to remove the front skid plate. Now I know this has been discussed before on here, but I can't figure out which skid plate it is. I don't have that chrome skid plate that some trucks come with starting at the bumper, my first one is the one directly under the engine. So if anyone could help this newb out I'd really appreciate it. The only other question I had was, would this grille guard cause my front end to sag at all? Thanks for your help if you can, and I'm stoked to be here!
    Adios

just removed, so you can have room to install hardware
should just be 4 bolts to remove skid plate.

so can I put it back on after that or is it permanent, the reason I'm so finiky about it is because we've already used the skid plate twice looking for mountain bike trails, so I'd like the guard and the skid plate.
PS: Thanks to tacoman06 for the info, and whats up from College Station bakerla. skistoy your truck is awesome man

yes, you need to remove the skid plate in order to attach the bar to the frame. once done the skid plate will go back on.
