    It's still a tough spot to mount it cause you don't want it underneath to get ripped off when wheeling, I was thinking above or below one of the tag lights but think that may be too far off center. What about just above the plate in that space or would the tailgate hit it when you open it?

    Wires will come from the passenger side. If you want it on the swingout and centered, you will have to extend the wires.

    I would think you could drill holes at each end of the tube & fish the wires through, that would look clean & protect the wires at the same time.
