toyota recall on the pedals... but....

so toyota is asking their supplier CTS that makes the pedal

that the pedals are wearing out pre-maturely...
is our gas pedal made in Elkhart, IN by CTS too???

since it wears out quick... thus leave the pedal open and it would be stick...

since my tacoma made in mexico, you guys think I have a better chance that the pedal is not from Indiana...

I got a letter last week. I'm in Canada though if that makes any difference. The truck was made in Cali

 

I think the tacomas made in Cali is going to be recall...

hopefully not the mexico version!!

 

That may have been for the voluntary floor mat recall- similar issue with sticking accelerator pedal.

Seriously though, the new recall seems aimed at the pedal assembly wearing out prematurely in rare cases.

 

if this keeps up we will get a brand new truck pretty soon outta the deal...lmao

 

Toyota is making a mockery out of there brand!! They need to fess up and fix the major problem

i got a recall in the mail about the floor mat issue but there isn't any issue....there is plenty of space between the mat and the gas pedal....so a recall isn't needed as far as i can see

 

I am in Canada and also got a letter to have my pedal modified.

 

folks, what I'm saying it... if the pedal is malfunction on these car... what not to say that it may not happen to our trucks?! as u read the article here... its talking about WORN pedals... we could wear out our pedels too... ( I dont see how is that possible ) but it is a thought...

I had my wife call the dealer next to my house and they said that my truck was in it, but that the parts would not be out until like may or june which my truck will be out of warranty so they gave me a corporate number to call. My wife tried all day and everytime she got put on hold it would hang up on her. Does any one have a number that I could have her try calling?

 

I actually got two letters. One a while ago was for the floor mat ( I have weathertechs anyway) and this recent one is for the pedal. Toyota will contact me with the parts for the pedal arrives in a few months

 

Can anyone post a copy of the recall letter received? Toyota Canada website also excludes Tacoma models in their press release for this recall:
