special order discontinued color?

they searched 12 states and couldn't find the tacoma I want, (black access cab trd offroad) I don't understand why it's so scarce but they special ordered it yesterday. I searched around for a while online and at all the surrounding dealerships then I got my credit union to start looking, they did the 12 state thing. I don't think they've placed the order yet because I still have to return an email about some stuff.

my question is if I called monday and changed the color to indigo ink do you think toyota would build it, or would I just be out of luck because they discontinued the best color they had that would look so awesome with tinted windows a black mags?

whatever the case, they told me it's going to be 6 to 8 weeks.
I'm going to go ahead and start ordering junk for mods so I can jump right on it.

 

i think they slowed production wayyyyyyyyyy down just as everyone else did.i didnt no black is no longer a choice.

 

black is still a choice, they just couldn't find one like I wanted on a lot unless I went with the tan interior or a different cab or something. It's the indigo ink that is no longer a choice, I thought since I had to special order it anyway maybe they would paint it ink.

I remember a thread a while ago where someone was looking to have a new truck built in a color that wasn't available. He went pretty far up the corporate ladder and was turned down.

 

I'm in the same boat as you, sort of. It seems like access cabs are so limited in choices compared to double cabs.

 

That stinks. I'm going to ask anyway maybe they still use the color on some other car so they'll do it. If not I'll just save for a few years and have it painted, maybe the day I get it paid-off, it'll be like getting a new truck.

I know, it seems like all they have is double cabs, but I just don't want one of those, I don't remember even seeing a regular cab, I thought about getting one of those but I like to keep a few things behind the seat. I hope you find what you're looking for.
