What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

If you have no pressing reason to sell it for a 2nd gen, DO NOT. I wish I did not have to sell my 01 Xcab V6 SR5 manual TRD. But a growing family made it necessary. Second gens are OK, but they overall feel cheaper in material and build quality.

 

Is the TW christmas tree trip just in one location or all over the states?

True. But when it comes to exploring I don't know much about my area. I have to find a good trail for everyone to have fun and get a good Christmas tree. Hmmm maybe I might make a trend on here and see what information people can give me.

 

im getting this weird wind noise that seems likes its coming from the front fender wheel, in the right corner of the cab. only hear it on highway. Heard it only after I just trimmed more plastic there cause it was rubbing. anyone else getting alot of wind noise there after trimming plastic??

 

I've trimmed a lot off but I made sure I left space around the snap in things that hold the inner fenders in so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

 

ive only timmed off to where you can see the pinch weld now. Maybe its just cut weird and flapping or something

No I struggled with mine and I froze the slugs too. I ended up having to take them to a shop to get them pressed in .

yes for sure, ive only put about 12k on my truck since FEB1, once riding season got here thats all i drive/ride haha

I'm more interested in it for high altitude highway driving. Where I hunt it hits 10k while driving on the highway to get where I hunt along with wheeling/camping trios across the state. My 04 had two 2" holes in the airbox and when I took the "new" 2000 truck up the same pass it had seemed a tad bit less responsive especially going up the pass.

 

The 2000 likely has 3.91 gears and the 04 4.10 gears

 

There's only about a hundred other factors that could influence a difference between the two. I'm with Ben on the deckplate mod being useless.

I believe they both were/are TRDs with the elocker, therefore they could only have 4.10s.

Yeah I suppose. I've also thought about injectors as the spray pattern was different between the years <2000 and 01-04. Idk I think I am still gonna try it and see what happens. Worst case scenario is I cut a hole in my airbox... and then hopefully seal up good enough with the deckplate and sealant lol. Maybe i should listen to you guys but I'm young and dumb. Live and learn...
