    honestly just buy a "thin" wall socket take a flapper disk to it and you'll be golden. If the easy way doesn't work then you can always get creative with a wide vane bur bit for and air dremmal tool.

    hence the "thin" and taking a flapper disc to it to make it thin.

    I havent had an issue ever but i have like 80K in tools so it's not hard to find the right tool for the job.

    Bought a 13/16 socket which is the biggest thing I can fit it the spacer and hogged out the inside. Modern sockets have rounded edges to prevent the corners of bolts from rounding but it means the socket has to be thicker. I figure if I knock those high spots down with the dremel it might fit over a bigger nut. Hope this worksIMG_20161024_222629921.jpg

    Damn, you must have really well equipped garage. That's a dream of mine to have a garage with hydraulic lift and a shit ton of tons at my disposal.

    Would you mind sharing your thought process as you selected the 4spd with that gearing?

    I debated for a while but ended up with a 2spd atlas, after receiving advise from multiple individuals that affirmed a 2spd would be a better choice for my specific application. The gears on the 4spd are either too close to each other on one end, or way to far on the other end. This might work well in a vehicle with a different configuration, but with my 2.7 5spd running on 40"s the 2spd Altas does not have as much gear overlap.

    Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

    I work at a shop with 4 2 post lifts and we have a sister shop with a 4 post and alignment rack. It's a must to have lots of tools. My dad and i have a shop with a two post lift and i don't even wanna think about how much into that shop.

    I really just did a lot of research on what other similar trucks had for dual t-case gearing (mine is a 3.4/r150f 5-speed with 4.88s in the axles). I saw a lot of guys running dual yota cases with 2.28s and 4.7 gears in the cases and they seemed very happy with that setup so I went with the 2.72 and 3.8 gearing which is 10.34 in double low. I'm not running a lot of high traction trails like the west guys but I plan on it. I have some ratio options written down at home that I'll post when I get home.

    I did the 2.72 and the 3.0. great new is if i want to jump to the 3.8 in the rear case i can do that later in life, for now though i actually love having that gearing because depending on what tire size im running i can be very close to a factory 4low gearing and performance. The 3.0 is perfect with my 42's and on 39's the 2.72 is perfect. it's 8.0 in double low and thats stupid slow esp. with the auto. My max speed in double low is 25 mph in overdrive and bouncing of the revlimiter.

    Interesting.

    For my application I couldn't quite visualize how the gearing available for the 4spd would work with the gear overlap.

    With the 2spd atlas, 5th gear in low range is just below 1st gear in high range. It sort of transforms the tranny into a 10speed without too much gear overlap in the tcase. With the 4cyl this seems to work well.

    However, i'm stuck with a very low reverse gear :(

    Most of the toyota guys with duals i talked to said that most of the time they wheeled with the 4..7 anyway. But it is nice to have that ultra low-low final gear if needed.

    There are so many variables to consider. I wish the AA had more options in the gears you can select to configure the 4spd.

    Yeah other than not having a double low there's nothing wrong with a really low low range. But having gearing options is what won my last tractor pull competition
