Some of you may have seen these I guess.

I've been trying to trap bobcats for a few years now and haven't had much success. Last Tuesday I set 4 traps, checked them Thursday, nothing. Saturday I caught two of the dang things but has luck would have it, the season doesn't start till next month. Pretty interesting to have to release them with no catch pole or nothing. But I got it done with no scratches or bites.

My buddy trapped a big bob last night probably 35# and the damn thing got skinned, not eaten, by a pack of coyotes. one of the strangest thing i've seen trapping so far.

Took this buck a couple days ago in central AZ. Our general rifle hunts get harder and harder every year it seems.

Great! Thanks for sharing. I've only caught one bobcat in years of trapping, but I'm not very good at it.

I've also never had to release anything. I'm surprised you don't have to use padded traps if you are required to release certain animals. Do you see much damage from the unpadded jaws and if so, are you allowed to put the animal out of misery? Are you allowed to use conibear traps during the times trapping is allowed but certain animals aren't? I really like my conibears.

The traps are offset, and I check them pretty often so they don't have much time to get damaged. Both were fine and ran off fine.

Gotcha. My coil springs are not offset, but probably not as big as what you use. Coon, fox and beaver are my main targets. Do you lose many animals with offset traps?
