What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yeah may be able to squeeze out an mpg or 2 if you get an afe filter too.

I got a little bit better mpg in my 96 3rz when I did the deck plate mod.

 

Toyota recall- the dealer replaced both lower ball joints, and installed a fuel hose protector.

Thanks! I have a bit of orange peel and overspray too, but I will probably wet sand it and polish this weekend.

 

Tried to see if I could be part of that but when I checked the only recall I can be a part of is the spare tire carrier recall.

They reused the old bolts I see... You'd think they would use new bolts.

I said the same thing. Old bolts? I wonder if Toyota pays for new ones, and the dealer just don't do it.

 

Damnit I'm only eligible for the spare tire carrier plate, expires Jan 31, 2017 though so glad I checked.

I didn't qualify for the spare tire recall. Some recalls where regional only.

 

I was hopin for like a frame recall enough though my trucks ancient. Oh well, drive it till the wheels fall off.

 

I've never really paid attention to the door label. Apparently my truck was made in Cali - was this the only plant for 01-04 tacomas at the time? Just curious.

 

The service writer at the dealer wanted my truck. He said they are not made like the 1st gen's anymore.

 

The people delivering our new fridge wanted my truck. I told him politely, yet firmly to fuck off.

 

This is the only vehicle ive owned where ive had anyone yet alone 3 people now wanting to buy it.

 

Someone left a note on my front door a few weeks back with their phone number asking if I wanted to sell my 03.

 

If they'd pay the price I would be asking they could have it, honestly... buy another with lower miles and such. But I guesss my build isn't very far along or the beastiest thing ever.

 

I've had so many people ask if they could buy my truck. Lol
