Found out today that I got a raise. It isn't much at all, works out to be just over a 4% increase in pay...but hell, I'll take it. Gotta take all that I can get on this graduate student salary! Celebrating with beers and Geeks Who Drink tonight

 

I just got an almost 6% raise for my yearly. I was stoked! Haha.

 

Promotion gets me like an extra $800 a month

Last year company gave 0% raise and $0 bonus for everyone. Doesn't look too good this year after our town hall meeting yesterday.

 

That $800 increase is to include housing allowance and it's taxed. In the end, I really only got an extra $300 or so of cold hard cash a month. +$3,600 for the year though.

 

Still better than 0.


I told my boss if I get screwed out of a raise this year all the mac mini's and Asus routers we have laying around are going to craiglist. I think I got at least 20k of equipment I can sell off.

 

Hahaha nice! Do you get bonus incentives based on performance, sales, reviews, etc?

Performance/reviews. My first year on this project I actually got an insane raise of 9% and a very nice bonus. The second year was decent raise/bonus. My reviews and performance comes back great every year. Just last year the company did horrible so company wide we got fucked.

 

It's funny, I got one in my living room. One in my PC room. 1 at my cabin, 1 at my parents house. And I think last time I checked we have 30 more at work that will never get used. It's a same. All are i7's, 4gb of ram 2013 Mac Mini servers. Great little devices once you rip OSX off of them.

 

Damn that's shitty. I got a buddy who got rimmed like that too. Top performer, just bad company. They switched to a progression bonus, where you don't bonus until you exceed your last best performance. He's about done with the whole situation.

That's what the one in my living room does. I added a bunch of ram and it runs PLEX.

Yah I average 4%-7% depending I. How the store does, then how they view my contribution, being there almost 12 with some good reviews and promos, even shitty increases still pay out decent at this point. This year the store is not doing well so I'm expecting the low end probably.

With drone skills you could get a 35k signing bonus a year with the Air Force right now with a 5 year commitment.
