Hey guys, I really want to put a snorkel on my Tacoma but I can not find any available. I don't mind modifying one to fit it. Anyone have experience with this? I definitely don't want to make one out of pvc, I was thinking a 2011 Tacoma snorkel would fit pretty good, but I believe the airbox is different. Let me know what you guys think/have done to fit a snorkel up on a 16'!

Just wait until ARB sells its Safari snorkel. They had a 2016 demo late last year somewhere with a snorkel. I don't know if it's on sale yet.

That's the one I want but a member contacted ARB and this was their response
"though they have some products on their Sema truck. They have not had a lot of opportunity to test their products for the 2016 models."

Realistically this could be months/years before its released if ever... This has been on the sema car for over 6 months now which makes me hesitant in waiting

In my years of modifying various types of race bikes and four wheel vehicles, it is best to spend the money on the right product, in this case wait for the Safari snorkel for the 2016+ Tacoma. If you try and hack up a second generation one, it will probably work and look okay, but if you're like me, it would be a temporary fix and you'd eventually spend the money on the new snorkel and essentially do the work twice and spend the money twice. Just my two cents...

Are you going to put snorkels on all gear case vents too or is the snorkel just for looks???? If its for looks put a fake snorkel on it. How do you waterproof all the electrics and electronics if you are doing some serious fording????

Stock 4runner for now but hopefully a Tacoma soon.
I agree. I'm sure most people install snorkels for looks (which is retarded imho) but they are useful in very dusty conditions not just river crossings.

Maybe AEV or or rugged Ridge will design one for tacoma. I realize taco cowel is different but these look so much more BA than the safari!

A large part of the purpose of a snorkel is to get your air intake up into cleaner air. For those of us that drive in desert environments a snorkel saves you from having to literally pour dust out of your air box.

That's why I'm doing it!! Snorkels are actually a dealer option in Australia due to the dusty conditions. I spend allot of offroad time in the Arizona desert which is full of dirt and not much water. I plan on running a snorkel with a cyclonic precleaner. Oh and don't forget it's probably the most functional CAI for a 4x4.

P.S. they also look pretty bad ass!:D

just contacted ARB yesterday and Caitlyn Hulme (sales spokesman) told me they should be realeasing the new 3GEN model at the end of this month (August 2016)... not too bad considering it took them years to develop the one for the 2GENs... price will be close to the $4-500 range as they stated the majority of the hard work/RnD was done on the 2GEN making it much easier to produce the 3GEN model quicker. don't expect these to be easily had as they are going to release limited amounts to start off... man TRD Pro grille ($500) or the Snorkel ($4-500)... guess we'll have to wait and see lol

Just check Google and ARB. I still don't see any 3rd gen snorkels available?
